Season 2.2 came with a lot of changes for the league. Most prominently, the division of Master and Beginner players led to more competitive matches each week. Another change was the absence of the Bothell Beartic in the Championship after their back to back championships. In their place, The Ballard Bulbasaur went undefeated in the playoffs securing their first Championship in a dominant 3-0 sweep of the Kenmore Air.

While the Master’s Division still dominated in the playoffs, a few Beginner Division teams took the opportunity to show how much they have improved. Kier led the Ketchi-Cloysters to the best finish of any Beginner Division team with 3 post season wins, almost breaking into the Semi-Finals. The Longview Lickilicky also showed some flashes of greatness taking the Beartic and Munchlax to a game 5 in back to back rounds.
