Most rookies struggle to put together a solid season as they enter the PDL. There has only been one exception to this. Max, head trainer of the Mercer Mudkip, placed second in their debut season during the beginner league. Since then Max has been a top ranked team in almost every season he has participated in. That history only made this upset 3-2 Tinks victory sting even more as the Mudkip were washed out by Rookie Drew.
The Tacoma Tinks have seemed to be one piece away from victory in most of their defeats this season. With a win against the Grotle and now the Mudkip, Rookie Drew has to be feeling good about his standings. The second highest ranked rookie this season was unavailable for comment following the match.
Trainer Max and the Mudkip seem to be stuck in a storm. While their playoff hopes are still very much afloat, this loss has the potential to start sinking their life-raft. They are now in 6th place with their final games against the Luxray and Traffic. Two games they are favored in, but if we learned anything from this match it was upsets can and will happen.
